A centenarian celebrated her 100th birthday with a party.
Gladys Bygraves of Biggleswade was born on Monday, December 30 1912. She now lives at Copelands in Biggleswade.
Her granddaughter, Beth Mead, said: “We had a great big party for all the Copelands residents. There were seven of her grandchildren and one Skyped in from Australia and there were 12 great grandchildren there.”
Gladys has lived in Biggleswade for 38 years, formerly living in Crab Lane by the George Hay offices. Gladys and her late husband cleaned the offices for many years.
She attends Trinity Methodist Chapel in Shortmead Street and she enjoys watching Westerns.
Beth, who also lives in Biggleswade, added: “It’s an achievement and I think she’s pleased she got there!”
