A woman who has looked after generations of children has decided to pass on the reins and retire.
Carol Leggatt has been the owner of Woodentops Pre-school in Potton for the past 25 years.
As well as looking after countless children during her time at the pre-school, community champion Carol has run the town’s Christmas lights and is also a member of the Party On Potton committee.
A farewell party was held in her honour for colleagues and parents of the pre-school’s children to give Carol their best wishes.
Karen Watts, managing director of Purple Pre-school in Sandy said: “Carol was incredibly supportive and knowledgeable in helping me set up my own preschool and has always been a source of wisdom.”
Parents and children, both past and present, joined in to dance, play and eat cake in order to celebrate Carol and her dedication to the preschool.
Woodentops Pre-school has been taken over by local childminder Jackie Noakes. She said: “I want to continue the play based ethos and welcoming environment of Woodentops Pre-school that Carol has established. Carol has looked after all three of my children and will be dearly missed.”
Woodentops opens for the new school year on September 3 and places are still available.
