Take part in this year’s Bugwalk through Chronicle Country to raise money for Sue Ryder, St. John’s Hospice, in Moggerhanger this Sunday.
The walk starts at The Surfin Café on Market Square at 8.45am before going through Broom Lakes, Shuttleworth and Old Warden before reaching The Crown at Northill.
Once replenished the walk will continue to Ickwell Green before rejoining the route in Shuttleworth back to Biggleswade.
The route is 12 miles and will finish with Berties Famous BBQ at The Wheatsheaf, Biggleswade where there is a raffle & family fun and games.
Last year’s walk raised £2,155. The walk started in 2010 when a family event was organised which could generate some funds for needy charities.
It started with six people signing up for a London to Cambridge bike ride, an organised event for ‘Breakthrough’ for Breast Cancer,
However, this quickly snowballed to a full coach ready to support the charity and £7,000 was raised.
Due to the overwhelming support from friends and local businesses the Bugwalk became an annual event in 2011.
