The Alzheimer’s Society is looking for new volunteers in Chronicle Country.

The charity is looking for volunteers to help support people who are living with dementia.

Would-be helpers can assist in a variety of areas, including with support services and fundraising across Beds.

One in three people over the age of 65 will develop dementia and there are already thought to be nearly 6,200 sufferers in the county as a whole.

Gill Lintott, operations manager for the Alzheimer’s Society said: “With rising numbers of people with dementia in Beds it’s vital that the Alzheimer’s Society continues to support people to live well with dementia today and fund research to find a cure for tomorrow.

“We rely on volunteers to continue our vital work.”

Volunteers do not need to have any relevant experience and there are no age limits.

The charity only asks for people’s commitment and dedication.

Potential recruits are asked to contact Kirsty Neill, volunteering officer on 07584 644 240 or email kirsty.neill@alzheimers.org.uk.
