Physical activity will be the subject of a talk.

The next speaker at Sandy Good Afternoon Club will be Victoria Clout, the co-ordinator of Active Bedfordshire.

She will promote the project and talk about the benefits of physical activity and exercise. There will be an opportunity to take part in armchair exercises.

The project aims to enable and empower adults aged 50 years and over to become more physically active through the development of community based programmes, specialist exercise classes and walking schemes run by trained volunteers and health professionals.

Another major aim of the scheme is to put in place interventions to reduce risk of falls in older adults.

The meeting will be on Friday, February 7 at 2.15pm in the meeting room at Sandy Library.

Anyone is welcome to attend. The cost is £1 including refreshments.
