The speed limit of a road will be debated.
On Tuesday (January 29) Central Beds Council’s traffic management committee will discuss plans for a 40mph speed limit on London Road in Biggleswade.
The proposal is to extend the 40mph limit on London Road from the roundabout next to Pegasus Drive to the A1.
The short section is currently subject to the national 60mph speed limit.
But Biggleswade Town Council, whilst not objecting to this proposal, has requested that the 40mph limit is reduced to 30mph from Holme Court Avenue to Pegasus Drive.
But the agenda says that as this section will be made into a dual carriageway the 30mph limit would confuse drivers.
Additionally the 40mph stretch would then be too short to police.
