Time to hiss and boo as the Sheriff of Nottingham takes to the stage.

Henlow Amateur Theatrical Society (HATS) will present the pantomime of Babes in the Wood later this month.

Prepare yourselves for lots of fun with the familiar characters of Robin Hood and Maid Marian.

When the Sheriff of Nottingham’s brother dies the Sheriff finds his nephew and niece (and their nanny) on the castle doorstep looking for shelter.

The sheriff is not happy – until he finds out that the children bring with them a substantial fortune.

So he hatches a plot with his two henchmen to dispose of the youngsters and pocket the cash himself!

When Robin Hood and Maid Marion hear about this they come to the rescue as they try to outwit the sheriff and his men and upset his plans.

As usual the spirit folk join in with a demon imp trying to aid the sheriff and a newly trained fairy attempting to help the babes, even though she is always losing her wand!

Mayhem ensues as castles, magical forests and haunted vaults are used to create an exciting and comical story.

Will Robin Hood and his merry men come to the rescue or will the magical yet forgetful Fairy Sparkle save the day?

Fun, frolics and some silly slapstick will keep you spellbound in this traditional pantomime.

There are evening performances at 8pm on Friday, January 24, Saturday January 25, Friday, January 31 and Saturday, February 1.

There are also 2pm matinees on the Saturdays.

Tickets cost £8 for adults and £6 for concessions. Family rates are available on request.
