A television programme was imitated by local cooks.
The Great Stotfold Watermill Bake-off on Sunday took a leaf from the book of the Great British Bake-off, which was a hit with television viewers. Beth Gaskell (pictured right with organiser, Emma Whiteway) took 12 hours to complete her winning speciality cake, a salted caramel croquembouche. She even made her own mould! Other winners were Hannah Azzopardi,9, (cupcakes) Avril Quinn (bread) and Vicky O’Leary (traditional cake).
