Biggleswade United have had a successful pre-season, claiming two wins in two matches as they prepare for the start of the 2013-2014 campaign.
New boss Mick Reardon saw his side beat Braintree Town Reserves 1-0 on Saturday thanks to a second half goal from James Peters.
United then saw off former United assistant manager Roy Boon’s Letchworth 5-2 on Tuesday night.
All five goals were scored by Reardon’s new signings that continue to impress at Second Meadow.
Mark Boomer and Tre Grant netted as the hosts led 2-0 at the break.
Letchworth replied with two goals of their own but Alex Butler, Dan Anthoni and John Vooght struck to cap a convincing victory.
Tomorrow, United have arranged a double header with Eynesbury Rovers.
The first teams kick off at 1.30pm followed by the reserve sides at 4pm.
On Tuesday, United are expecting a bumper crowd as AFC Rushden & Diamonds visit Second Meadow, kick-off 7.45pm. United’s final pre-season follows on Wednesday night with the visit of Kent Athletic.
Langford have seen mixed fortunes in their pre-season campaign as they have won one and lost one.
Despite a promising performance, the Reds lost to a very strong Cogenhoe side 2-0 Saturday.
They did however beat Potton United 2-0 thanks to a superb strike from Carl Albon and Danny Phillips’ effort to secure new manager Tony Lamacraft’s first victory at Forde Park.
Stotfold also tasted defeat in their pre-season clash with Barton Rovers on Saturday, falling to a 9-0 reverse.
Steve Young’s side recovered to draw 3-3 against Northampton Spencer on Tuesday night.
Stotfold now host Arlesey Town this weekend.
