A last-gasp strike from Waders skipper Steve Gentle saw Biggleswade Town pick up a crucial 2-1 Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central win over Thatcham Town on Saturday.
Paul Barnes opened the scoring on 12 minutes, firing through a crowded goalmouth, but Thatcham levelled when Rob Why beat Michael McEntegart with a shot that hit the post and rebounded into the empty net.
Visiting keeper Aaron Bufton produced some marvellous saves in the second period, but was finally beaten in the final seconds when Craig Daniel found Gentle who headed the winner.
The result sees Biggleswade now five points clear of sixth placed Royston Town with four games remaining, while Waders host Northwood on Tuesday evening.
